[New Data Source]: MTConnect

### Background MTConnect is an open-source device communication protocol that is pre-installed on several CNC Machines from a wide range of manufacturers. The protocol also allows users to monitor a wide range of parameters from equipment, and the connectors are relatively easy to setup. I believe in the long-term this will have much more utility than OPC-UA or MQTT and allows for easier accessibility. Also, they have standards to map to OpenUSD to visualize machine models in real-time. ### Use case Currently all of our CNC equipment has MTConnect Agents built into them. Currently I am aggregating that data into a timeseries database and using Grafana to visualize the data. This is major for us as it allows us to see our OEE and conduct root cause analysis on production events and provide valuable metrics to our leadership. If there was a way to have a client built into Grafana, I GUARANTEE Grafana would become the default resource for industrial equipment monitoring. I've assisted many machine shops in improving their data acquisition of industrial equipment. The biggest impediment I see is in the industry is the perceived difficulty in getting things networked and easy ways to visualize that data. Grafana could be the answer.
