SQL Expressions: 500 error when referencing an SSE node which is not a datasource node

As issue title says.
This is hard to understand and fix from a user-perspective, because you get literally no feedback about what you did wrong.
(In my case I was referencing the exact same SQL Expression's own RefID, which of course shouldn't/won't work. But still the error wasn't helpful).
