NextJs starter app malfunctions

### 👟 Reproduction steps 1. The NextJs starter app does not send a ping to the cloud console to verify that you've connected, it just returns a 500 error code ### 👍 Expected behavior It should reflect on the cloud console and usher me to the next step ### 👎 Actual Behavior it displays a 500 error code and the console doesn't reflect connection.
